FAQs

  • Question: For the Funding Opportunity Notification form, is there a way to go in and see what parts of the notification have been previously submitted?
    • Answer: No there is not a way for individuals to do it in person but if you email OFA at grants@ofa.nv.gov, OFA will look into past submissions and provide an update.

  • Question: Is there any assistance available to write grant applications for state departments/offices?
    • Answer: OFA is happy to help, but state departments/offices are the expert and knowledge base for the applications. OFA will be a force multiplier. Project management, coordination with meetings, helping answer challenging questions, reviewing etc. But OFA will not be able to write a grant for you.

  • Question: Do state agencies who receive discretionary federal funding opportunities that are federal apportionments (technically grants) required to report them?
    • Answer: State agencies are required to report any grants they apply for. Apportionments are not applied for, so agencies are not technically required to report them. However, if you send in the data, OFA would be grateful for the data as data collection is part of OFA's mandate.

  • Question: Will the NV Grant Manual continue to be updated?
    • Answer: Yes! OFA is in the process of updating it right now. OFA staff are being thoughtful to update it to increase usability.

  • Question: What is OFA doing with the data?
    • Answer: Data helps OFA understand and report the challenges state agencies have in bringing federal dollars to the state or managing them. OFA staff utilize the data to create and support programs like the Grant Matching Program.

  • Question: Can we expect to see a conference in the future again?
    • Answer: OFA staff are considering and working towards getting year-round training delivered as well as the creation and implementation of a networking group before building back to the grant conference.
